This presentation will discuss MAX Solution’s long-term partnership with Compass Group Australia, through their employer-led service delivery model. The presentation will be co-presented by MAX and Compass Group, providing best practice from both a provider and employer perspective.
MAX will share their approach to employer engagement, including the critical steps undertaken to develop long term employer partnerships with large complex organisations who employ people with disability.
Compass Group will share their experience on partnering with MAX, and how they have built disability confidence across their organisation to increase employment participation of people with disability each year.
The presentation will highlight the growth of the partnership and the benefits of employing people with disability, including improved retention and outcome rates of ongoing employment.
Darren Otten is the General Manager – Employer Partnerships with MAX Solutions. Darren has worked in employment services and training for over 20 years in a variety of roles including CEO of Skills Right Now, and leadership roles with many providers including, the Salvation Army Employment Plus, A4E, and Australian Employment and Training Solutions.
Darren is a community-minded leader who is passionate about workplace diversity and maximising the benefits of employment for the unemployed and employers.
Darren manages MAX’s national network of Employer Business Centres and National Partnership Managers. Over the last five years, Darren has led the team to achieve MAX’s highest brokered placement rate, fostering partnerships with a range of employers such as Compass, Coles and Programmed.
In his partnerships with employers, Darren works closely to meet their recruitment needs while also ensuring that MAX’s participants gain meaningful and sustainable employment across Australia.
Annabel Curtis is currently the National Diversity & Inclusion Manager for Compass Group. An effective and versatile Human Resources Management professional with over fifteen years’ experience, she brings a depth of knowledge and understanding of contemporary practice to her role. Partnering with executive leadership, she has developed and implemented human resources frameworks to meet strategic organisational goals and deliver successful outcomes. With exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills, she is a leader in developing relevant employee skills and driving a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Having started her career with Compass Group in a role based at Queensland Children’s Hospital, she has seen firsthand the positive impact that a successful partnership with organisations like Max Employment can have on engagement and importantly, retention, of team members recruited through these partnerships.
In his 4 and a half years in this current role he has been able to put into practice one of his greatest passions and that is creating and providing employment opportunities to those who need it most. Working with stakeholders internally at Compass Group and externally, such as Max Employment, Brendan works to remove barriers into the workforce for candidates living with a disability, the Indigenous community and long-term unemployed candidates looking to return to the workforce.
