ADELAIDE OVAL
Getting there :
- The venue is close to the airport so commute time for interstate travellers is minimised. A taxi ride will take approximately 15 – 20 minutes and cost $25-30. The taxi should take passengers to the South Gate entrance, located off War Memorial Drive.
- The venue is easily accessible by various modes of transport including car, bus, train, tram or bicycle. For more information and timetables please visit the Adelaide Metro website: https://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/
- The venue has accessible parking options. Please refer to Appendix A on page 4 of this document for details.
- Once at the venue, use the South Gate, located off the Riverbank Stand, off War Memorial Drive, to access the Conference function rooms. After entering the South Gate, take the escalators in the entrance foyer up to Level 3. The William Magarey Room (plenary room and location of the Registration Desk) will be here.
Navigation:
- Adelaide Oval has both ramps and lifts throughout the venue to provide safe access for wheelchair or mobility impaired visitors. Ramps are located near all stairs and lifts are located near all escalators. Please refer to Appendix B on page 5 of this document for details.
- The venue has open spaces for wheelchairs and mobility aids.
- Clear and accessible signage is available.
Toilets:
- Unisex accessible toilets are located near all male and female toilets. They are signed with raised tactile/Braille signs that also tell which way you can transfer onto the pan. RH means that you can transfer to the right and LH means to the left, so there will be a toilet to suit your requirements.
- There are 77 cubicles within male or female toilets that have extra space with the door opening outwards. These toilets, marked with a mobility aid symbol, also have short grab rails on both sides of the cubicle to assist in getting on and off the toilet.
- Male urinals also have short support rails at each end to support you and your mobility aid.
Additional accessibility aids at the venue:
- Adelaide Oval welcomes assistance animals. Please ensure that animals vacate the stadium for toileting.
- The venue will provide a quiet space for attendees who may feel overstimulated. Please refer to Appendix C on page 6 of this document for more information.
Accommodation:
