Key focuses of Jason’s work are on leadership, capacity building, systems change and advocacy on national topics and issues such as employment, education and society’s attitudes.
He has lived experience of disability and mental illness, living with Tourette Syndrome, Anxiety and OCD since a young age. Throughout his career, Jason has worked in diversity and inclusion, disability advocacy, sports and event management across many different industries including not for profit, sports, local government, higher education and agency.
He is passionate about supporting marginalised groups in the community including people with disability to ensure they are provided an opportunity to participate in decision making on key issues that are important to their lives. Outside of his work at CYDA, he enjoys sharing his lived experience with community groups, schools, organisations and the general public for awareness and education purposes to improve the understanding and remove the stigmas and stereotypes and low expectations of disability in society.
