The Evidence and Practice Settings for Relationship Building in Case-Managed Employment Assistance

Drawing on Australian and international research, as well as extensive service delivery experience, this presentation outlines a practical relational model for effective participant engagement.
Although policy settings and program guidelines frequently emphasise relationship building, they rarely define the parameters and core elements of effective professional relationships.

Dr Giuliani’s Participant Relationship Model provides clear guidance for team leaders and employment consultants. It demonstrates how engagement/ bond, task agreement, and end goal clarification contribute to improved outcomes for highly disadvantaged participants
The presentation is consistent with 3 key themes of the conference:
• How to deliver better, more effective services – (evidence based)
• Translation of research into practice.
• Workforce, capability, and continuing professional development
The presentation will support providers to strengthen their service delivery models and enhance staff capability through targeted professional development.
