BURSARIES
ABOUT THE BURSARY
Disability Employment Australia supports the participation of people with disability by providing a Subsidised Attendance Bursary in the form of heavily discounted registration to the Disability Employment Australia (DEA) Conference.
If you are a person with disability, have an interest in the disability employment sector and meet the criteria below, we encourage you to apply for the Bursary.
The DEA Conference focuses on positive employment outcomes for people with disability and accessibility in the open labour market.
The Conference will provide an optimal opportunity to learn from the sector about the benefits of employment. The discounted rate should promote greater access, where normally the cost would prevent you from attending.
The Bursary includes discounted attendance for you. If you require a support person, they can attend with you at no additional cost. It does not include transport, accommodation, or meals. It does include admission to the Welcome Reception and the Conference (Tuesday and Wednesday), and food and beverages provided at the Conference.
ELIGIBILITY
The reduced price does not apply to staff and/or Board members of government-funded and contracted Employment Service organisations or government staff.
To be clear, the Bursary will be offered only to people meeting both of the below criteria:
1. People with disability who are Australian citizens or Australian Permanent Residents.
2. People who do not work for organisations that could reasonably be expected to pay the full fee (sole traders, small not-for-profits etc., would be eligible).
Note:
Disability Employment Australia (DEA) reserves the right at its discretion to allow discounted Conference registration on a case-by-case basis and under exceptional circumstances.
DEA is unable to assist with accommodation or travel expenses.
PRICING
The discounted Bursary cost is $150. (The standard rate is $2,350). The discounted Conference price will also include attendance to the Welcome Reception which officially opens the Conference, allowing delegates to network with sector professionals and peers.
The Bursary will not include expenses such as transport, accommodation, or sundries. It does include meals and snacks provided at the Conference.
