DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY

We’re proud to partner with Recite Me as our official accessibility partner.

Recite Me helps organisations improve digital inclusion and accessibility through assistive technology, including its assistive toolbar and Accessibility Checker, accessibility training and consultancy services.

We take digital accessibility seriously and are committed to making our website and online services as inclusive and usable as possible for everyone.

Around 1 in 5 Australians live with disability, and many people experience barriers online due to vision impairment, hearing loss, neurodiversity, mobility limitations, temporary injuries, ageing, language barriers, or varying levels of digital confidence.

We know that accessibility is not just about compliance, it’s about ensuring everyone can access important information, complete tasks independently and participate equally online.

We want everyone who visits our website to be able to access our content and services regardless of how they browse the web. Whether that’s using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, browser zoom, voice control software, captions, assistive technology or other accessibility tools.

We also understand that accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time project. While we know there is still more work to do, we are committed to continually improving the accessibility, usability and inclusivity of our digital experience over time.

This is particularly important when it comes to accessing essential information and services, including billing information, payments, account support, service updates and customer communications.

Recite me

Our website includes the Recite Me Australia toolbar, which provides additional support features to help personalise your browsing experience.

The toolbar is designed to support people with a wide range of access needs and preferences, including people with vision impairments, dyslexia, neurodiverse conditions, learning difficulties, mobility impairments and those who speak English as a second language.

Using the toolbar, visitors can:

  • Listen to website content using text-to-speech functionality (read aloud)
  • Customise font size, font style and spacing for improved readability
  • Adjust colour contrast and visual display settings
  • Translate website content into more than 100 languages
  • Use reading aids including a screen mask and reading ruler
  • Magnify content on screen
  • Access a built-in dictionary and text simplification tools
  • Navigate the website using a keyboard without requiring a mouse
  • Use the website alongside common assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver
  • Zoom website content up to 200% without losing functionality or readability

You can open the Recite Me toolbar at any time by selecting the Recite Me icon on our website.

While accessibility tools can improve usability and personalisation for many users, we recognise that digital accessibility is an ongoing process. We are committed to continually reviewing and improving the accessibility and usability of our website and digital services over time.

It is important to note that assistive tools alone do not make a website fully accessible or compliant with accessibility standards. We continue to review and improve the structure, design and functionality of our digital services as part of our broader accessibility commitment.

Ongoing Improvement

We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our website and digital content and welcome feedback from users to help identify areas where improvements can be made.

Accessibility standards, technologies and user needs continue to evolve and we are committed to learning, improving and taking proportionate action over time.
